Review about 14 Nikon S710 Coolpix

Friday, November 5th, 2010

My sister and I bought two Nikon Coolpix S710 cameras and they were both a great disappointment. My camera’s lens broke before I even started using it. I turned it on for my trip to Washington D.C. but the screen said there was a lens error that couldn’t be fixed. I tried turning it on/off, taking out the battery, shaking it, but nothing worked. In the end, I had to ship it back for a new one and I only had it for two days!

My sister’s camera worked once before it had problems turning on/off. She would need to remove the battery and reinsert it every time. She will also be returning her camera.

I definitely do not recommend this camera to anyone.

N65 QD NIKON 35mm lies

Sunday, September 12th, 2010

I was very impressed with this camera overall. All of my lenses originally bought for my d70 and my sb800 flash work on it perfectly.

The main problem I have experienced is that most of my pictures tend to be overexposed when using the auto settings. This isn’t a huge deal, as you can buy a light meter and shoot manually.

Oh, and you can’t change the ISO, therefore you cannot push the film to change its metering problem.

overall, nice and cheap. highly recommended.

*Some spoilers*

Honestly, I expected to like this book. I love reading books that are adapted into films, so I figured I’d get a head start on this one — anything about a circus, I figured, would at least be interesting. I wasn’t disappointed. The protagonist is likeable, which is a must for me, the plot is well developed, and I like the continual transition from present-day Jacob to twenty-three year old Jacob. That said, I really wish the book were longer. I finished it in a single afternoon and I really thought the ending had been sewn up too quickly: So Rosie the elephant conveniently dispenses with August and our couple are left to live happily ever after…eh… I was expecting something more dramatic, more violent: a Jacob/August showdown, if you will. But the book seems to move too fast to accomodate a scene like this. Really, that’s my only complaint, though.
I snuck a peek at the other reviews before buying the book, and I was slightly put off about references to graphic sexual material and animal cruelty. And I have to say, I don’t get it. The animal cruelty is there, sure, but there isn’t much talk about blood and gore — it’s more about how Jacob responds to the cruelty, in my view. It doesn’t make it any less disturbing, but it’s not really horror movie material either. As for the sex stuff, I don’t get what the fuss is about. You can pick up almost any generic romance novel and read stuff that is far more graphic than what is found here. And I think it’s marketed as an adult novel, so no problems there…
In conclusion, it’s a good book. I’ll probably read it again and I think it’s worth the price I paid for it.

Cheapest Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S NIKKOR Lens

Typically, when shooting a wedding, we found that the new lens was too short and images required cropping. At a children’s party the same issue presented itself. At 10 feet away it was not possible to frame a face as the original lens could do. And yet this lens is absolutely state of the art in every other respect. Likely, this will be one of Nikon’s most debated lenses, though those who shoot over typically longer distances will find this lens ideal. Still, Nikon has a clear error on their website. They claim that the 70-200 maintains it’s full zoom range at minimum focus. And it most certainly does not. Any honest shooter should not debate this issue. It WILL effect some professional applications.

Nikon D300s Digital SLR Camera

Friday, June 4th, 2010

After being an olympus SLR user for 3 years (honestly without any complains) I decided to switch to Nikon for various reasons, but particularly for the high ISO capabilities. These camera has met and surpassed all my expectations, and continues to amaze me with every set of pictures I upload. The camera is extremely well built, it is responsive, and the quality of the pictures is great. The video is a great attribute but it needs some tweaking if you want to improve your footage. I would recommend using a tripod and avoid fast moving objects because of the ‘rolling shutter’ problem that all video SLR cameras still have. Putting this aside, it is obvious that the purpose of Nikon D300s Digital SLR Camera is for photography and I have no complains regarding this. I would recommend Nikon D300s Digital SLR Camera to any semi-professional or enthusiast photographer that wants an upgrade.
