I bought into the hype and rave reviews, seeing that thousands have purchased this product to their relative satisfaction, collectively. However, I have to say that I was pretty disappointed once I received the scale.
First off, here’s my disclaimer. First time I stepped onto it, I heard a loud cracking noise, which kind of freaked me out. I thought that I had broken it, on my first try. FYI, I’m a lean 5’6” guy who weighs around 140lb. Anyways, I checked the scale, looking for any cracks or broken legs. Found no suspicious sign. The scale still works after that, so I did not return it. So even if you take my review with a grain of salt, it still says something about the product’s credibility if a 140lb-guy can inflict any sort of damage to the scale on his first try.
Like any cautious buyer, I went on to test this product. Aside from having multiple people testing it and getting consistent results, I also tried various inanimate objects of predetermined weight, and the results were also relatively accurate and consistent. So at that time, my rating would have been a 3.5-4.
About 2-3 months in, results were getting more and more sketchy. I was constantly testing it for consistency with every use and getting more suspicious. I’d put on a jacket, and it’d give me the same reading. I’d weigh something much lighter (my laptop) and then weigh myself again, and I’d get different readings (either higher or lower). BUT if I keep weighing the same thing, I’d get the same reading. It’s as if this little bugger “remembered” the last reading. Whatever the case is, this scale may be precise, but I have serious doubts regarding its ACCURACY, which is what really matters to me.
